Hawaii State Sheriff Graduation 2019
Dr. Roger Mason was the keynote speaker at the 2019 graduation of the Hawaii State Sheriffs Department. The graduation was held at the Hawaii Okinawa center in Waiphu, Hawaii. Roger started the week by visiting the Hawaii Department of Public Safety Training Academy on Oahu. Deputy Sheriff recruits receive six months of intensive training preparing them for the toughest job in Hawaii. Upon graduation they are assigned to a variety of law enforcement assignments across the state. Dr. Mason spoke on five keys to a long law enforcement career. He shared some of his experiences from 29 years as a police officer. He remarked, “This was a tremendous honor. I enjoyed meeting the deputies, their families, and the academy staff. This academy is very tough, and every graduate has earned their badge.”
