Get the most out of emergency response trainings

MONTREAL — The point of having an emergency response plan is to ensure that your campus safety department can respond swiftly and effectively during a major campus crisis. And holding annual emergency response exercises as required by the Clery Act ensures your plan works as expected. Or does it?
Roger Mason, who co-founded LEC Management, a crisis management and critical incident command consulting and training organization, recently spoke at the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators conference on this very topic. With more than 30 years of experience in law enforcement and degrees in public administration and applied management and decision sciences, he has consulted with myriad local government agencies, post-secondary institutions and private organizations to help them better prepare for crises.
