A new book, Art of Intelligence: More simulations, exercises, and games, is now available. It includes a chapter by Dr. Roger Mason. This book is the second volume on this topic edited by Ruben Arcos and William Lahnemen. The objective of the book is to introduce intelligence analysts to the use of simulations and wargames. Roger Mason remarked, “I was honored to collaborate with some internationally recognized experts in intelligence analysis. Our goal was to introduce the use of games to new intelligence analysts.”
One of Roger Mason’s hobbies is military history. The August/September edition of World at War Magazine contains Roger’s article on British intelligence’ plan to assassinate Adolf Hitler. After 75 years, many secret documents from the Second World War have been declassified. Roger explains, “The starting point for this article was the original 1944 British intelligence plan called Operation Foxley. This was a detailed plan that carefully investigated the possibility of assassinating Adolf Hitler.” Roger was asked what the draw for researching an article about Hitler was. He said, “I have published numerous military history articles including an analysis of Hitler’s daily military conferences during World War Two. The availability of previously secret documents has resulted in a new wave of World War Two scholarship.”
